2021-2022 Season
Growth and Identity

As human beings, we are always seeking to discover more about who we are and how we fit into this world. Sometimes we are seeking growth and sometimes growth is forced upon us.  We grow as a result of challenge or struggle. We learn how to protect ourselves and what our priorities are. We learn who to trust and how to present ourselves.

The challenges of the past year have forced all of us to grow. From taking on new responsibilities to adapting to new situations, we have all experienced both collective and individual growth.

Our high school years are marked by growth. In fact, we may go through more versions of ourselves in adolescence than at any other time in our lives. Our goal as Theatre Fishers is to facilitate our students' development as artists and individuals in a society and to help guide them on their journey to self-discovery.

The characters in the stories we are telling this season are placed in situations that force them to develop and discover more about who they are and where they’ve come from. They, like all of us, are seeking to find stability and strength through a deeper connection to themselves. We hope that your love for theatre grows as you join us for this season's productions.

Spring Play: Peter and the Starcatcher

A young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin, which contains a precious, otherworldly cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training who realizes that the trunk’s precious cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates – led by the fearsome Black Stache, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own – the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure.

Fall Musical: Mamma Mia!

On a small Greek island, Sophie dreams of a perfect wedding — one which includes her father giving her away. The problem? Sophie doesn’t know who he is! Her mother Donna, the former lead singer of the 1970s pop group Donna and the Dynamos, refuses to talk about the past, so Sophie decides to take matters into her own hands. Sneaking a peek in her mother’s old diaries, she discovers three possible fathers: Sam, Bill, and Harry. She secretly invites all three to the wedding, convinced that she’ll know her father when she sees him. But when all three turn up, it may not be as clear as she thought! Told through the legendary music of ABBA, Mamma Mia! has become a worldwide sensation that has audiences everywhere dancing.
